The following is a selection of photos of club activity. Any of the photos on this page can simply be enlarged by clicking on it. They represent a selection of photos from various club activities, both home and abroad, both competitive and leisurely...

...beginning at home. Recent winters have provided some of the best snow for a long time in the NE, although only up at the tows near Alston it could have been the alps (well, sort of...)

The road up to Garrigill

They have piste bashers in the UK!?

Abroad, we have the abundance of loipe-filled countries, where unlike at Alston, there is good coffee and cake to be had too. Here's Germany for example...

Note: this is not a loipe, but a train track, compare with above picture

Makes a great picture, but a mess of the loipe

Competitive instinct drives some of our members to shun the coffee and cake scene and go in for serious training instead. This desire to compete has taken members in recent years to the relative comforts of Switzerland, but also to the frozen depths of Russia. They don't always return with the silverware of course, but various honours have been achieved, such as 'Fastest British Mother and Daughter Combination', 'Fastest Bespectacled British Man called Alasdair' etc. It's the taking part that counts, in any case.

When there's no snow, it's out with the rollers and never mind the funny looks from passers by...

Our touring trips to Norway yield many fond memories, and more pictures than even most of our members would care to see during a social evening...

...which is why there are only a few here from our recent trips.

But there's more if you want, by following these links to external photo albums and to youtube video clips:

And another one.
